shikar-review

shikar the first film from lal-padmakumar duo has impressed to say the least. the movie has lived upto the expectations of the fans. lal who is yet to get out of the bad patch in his career has come up with a commendable performances, which shows us that talent him in his inborn and it cannot be lost. padmakumar with his earlier movies like vargam and vasthavam had impressed everyone but paranthu left everyone in a shock, the movie which had mamooty in the leed role was a disaster.
lal plays the role of a widower in shikar. he sizzles in the role of a depressed father who takes all pain to look after her daughter. the director has tried his best to rope in some commercial dialogues to satisfy the fans but only in vain, in my opinion he should have given more importance to the story than to satisfy the stars stardom. the first half doesn't leed the movie anywhere it was as if the director did not knew what he was doing. the second half was really brilliant, it had the story and it was brilliantly executed, the telugu son was really an inspirational one.he was largely successful in creating the tension in the movie and kept us waiting till the end.the movie had some amazing shots through out, one cud c frames which till now no one tried thanks to manoj pillai who has worked out some briliant frames through out the movie.
the casting was commendable. the mythili role was a real waste wonder why she was in the movie, she did not even speak a word.kailash excelled in the cameo role, he did justice and he is promising, he is growing with each movie, jayachandran has failed to create an impression again although the duet song of mohanlal nd sneha is worth hearing.sneha in the traditional house wife role was good.suraj and jagathy tried hard but one should say they  din come upto the expectation.
the film is worth watching for the acting brilliance of the super star.
verdict: hit
rating:6.5/10
