MAN MADHAN AMBU-review

Man Madhan Ambu starring Kmalhasan directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Udayanidhi stalin is a complete entertainer. The film tipped to be a comedy entertainer tries hard to lives upto its tag with a stealthy performance from Kamal hasan,Madavan and Trisha. Both Kamal hasan and Ravikumar whose previous films( Dasavatharam and Ayan) were flop and was under real pressure to strike a winning combination.The script doen't have any conviction in it and it doesn't offer any kind challenge for the ulaganayakan and Trisha, it was like he was on a vacation and he seriously was enjoying the spanish city.
The Film does start on a high note with a sizzling cameo from "Surya". Nisha or ambu(Trisha) a film actress is tipped to marry madvan(madavan in film too) however madavan gets a doubt on her and both breaks up, however he is determined to know the truth, whether ambu was cheating on him and is she going around with other actors, he appoints a private detective major R.mannar(kamal hassan) his investigation onambu follows up the rest of the story. deepa(sangeetha) as Trisha's friend steals the heroine tag of the movie with a splendid performance, her timing has been excellent and her combination with kunju kurup(kunjan) and manju kurup(manju pillai) is the only thing to laugh in the movie.The film as a whole doesn't carry an comedy fireworks but u expect it to start every scene both script and director fails your expectation, and keeps u waiting and the wait is never rewarded(but u will certainly be relieved when its get over).The script should have more fire in it to create an interest, the best thing film offers is an excellent ride in the barcelona city and a cruise which has been excellently caught on screen by the cinematographer Manush Nadan. The couple of highlights which will get stuck on to u after watching this movie is the picturisation of the song "Neelavanam", the entire song has been picturised by pressing a rewind button and film do give you a feel how world the small is and u won't realise it and it happens so seamlessly.
the best thing to happen in this movie is however MADHAVAN, his role as a drunkyard will make u laugh and to me his role is much too a challenge in this movie. He has brought out a brillaint performance,The director has failed almost in all parts one doesnt feel anything is happening btwn kamal and trisha and whn he says he is in love with trisha madavan along with the audience too will be looking stunned. devi sri prasad tuned the songs for this film and i personally believe he hasn't come anywhere near his personal best.

KANDAHAR movie review

The much awaited much hyped movie of the year KANDAHAR has been released. The film teams up MAJOR RAVI and Lt.CL MOHANLAL for the third successive time.KANDAHAR is produced by mohanlal himself under the banner PRANAVAM INTERNATIONAL after a gap of 11 long years. the film boasts the presence of amitabh bachan, that too for the first time in the southern film industry. ganesh venkatraman also plays a prominent role alongside the two legends.the film does not portray a female lead.

The film deals with hijack of indian airlines flight from mumbai to new delhi by the taliban terrorist and the rescue operation by the nsg commando's lead by major mahadevan and team.major ravi kept the entire fans waiting for this movie coz of this powerful rather original story line and since it was an historical failure from our indian govmnt to nab the terrorist people as a whole was waiting how the major's fiction tale would turn out to be.This is where the director failed to catch the audience heart.

The movie takes off with two normal frustrated young generation lads soorya and razzack searching for a job to earn a livelihood. soorya true in heart and a good human being joins army under the compulsion of major mahadevan and razzack goes to fight for jihad in order to earn money. both of their lives are given a true comparison where in which one toils hard in the army training and other in the jihadi camp, the editing over here is brilliant. one is given a good look at the life of IMA i wish many likes it and join the forces.

the second half movie gathers some pace and gets into the real plot.the dialogues are precise but it will give u the point.all the actors Every actor, especially Mohanlal,amitabh bachan and Ganesh Venkatraman do justice to their roles and the fact that Big B did not accept a single rupee for the project in spite of being offered a huge amount just goes to show how much these actors are dedicated towards films that bear a social message.The operation inside the plane is swift (i wanted it to be a long operation) and worth watch. all the aerial shots in plane have been shot in russia, the locations really takes once birth away! ravi varman and velraj have done a great job with the cameras.

the surprising part of the movie is the songs tuned by shamir tandom m sure his compositions will catch your heart and each song is aptly placed in the movie though dheeme cud hav been cut short.

the movie brings a message of national duty and the respect each soldier gets! the way in which the public recieves soorya's dead body is worth a scene and u feels like standing from the scene and giving a salute.

The conversation btwn bachan and lal seems quiet long. the movie could have made even more pacier with such a theme.but this time i guess major has tried to portray the life of a soldier and terrorist in one canvas. The effort need to be applauded. bachaan plays the role of soorya's father, who is very keen to c his son make him proud one day. KPAC lalitha brings out a brave character in doing the mothger'srole for a traitor.the film as such is not a commercial entertainer but surely is based on some ethics and values which our indian society has.

i would rather say to watch this movie for a meaningful reason to remember our national heroes rather than to watch the gunfires u want 2 c 2 keep u entertained.
